Small Steps to Healing
How Ten Women Transformed Their Lives
The women’s stories reveal how trauma and grief happen more frequently in our lives than we imagine and in ways we may never have considered before.
We cope with these incidents by creating emotional walls inside ourselves. Hiding places for burying the pain, fear and confusion that we experienced or witnessed often in childhood.
But change and healing are possible by taking small steps and Eileen encourages us to do this. At the end of each chapter, she offers simple meditations in both written and audio formats.
When we are calm and quiet, we connect more deeply with ourselves, our values and our wisdom.
"The women's stories are inspirational and nourishing - like being wrapped in a warm hug of feminine energy and wisdom."

Four questions that women ask Eileen about her book
What was your vision for your book?
I wanted to inspire women to see snapshots of their lives through the personal stories and to know that they’re not alone – other women have walked the same paths as them and created new life stories.
What did you learn about women from the interviews?
Women are amazing. They are strong, determined and courageous. All the women revealed their vulnerability by sharing their painful emotions and memories with wise women who helped them to make sense of their experiences and heal their hearts.
Why do you mention small steps?
Small steps show how change happens in small ways. Taking small steps boosts the potential for change to be long-lasting.
Why is it important for women to tell their stories?
Women need to feel the power of finding their voices and speaking their truth. More than ever, women have to own their stories and know that they are being heard. Each story adds to the strength of women’s collective voices, seeking understanding, seeking safety, seeking change.
